Privacy policy
Last updated
Oliver operates JackieBot for the AboutOliver Discord community and is responsible for the data described below.
Information we collect
The bot processes Discord user IDs, names, roles, account and join times, avatar presence, messages, timestamps, channel IDs and attachments. Records include moderation evidence, actions, moderator feedback and error logs.
How we use your information
Our legitimate interest is protecting the community from spam, scams and raids. The bot compares messages and attachments across channels and may automatically ban accounts or delete messages. Moderators can review decisions and reverse bans.
Data storage and retention
Records and logs are stored on the bot's server with restricted access. Recent messages and downloaded files are processed in memory; selected evidence, including images, may be copied to the Discord moderation channel.
- Message caches are cleaned periodically, with cached messages removed within roughly 24 hours. Downloaded files are not archived on the server.
- Cases and their recovery copy keep at most 1,000 cases within 30 days. Join-wave records expire after seven days. Cleanup runs while the bot is online and after restarts.
- Bot logs keep today and ten preceding days. Tracked Discord evidence is scheduled for deletion after 30 days; failed deletions retain minimal references for retry. Older untracked copies and external backups require separate cleanup.
What we do not collect
The bot ignores direct messages and does not record voice conversations or request online status and activity data.
Discord's role
JackieBot uses Discord's API. Discord handles platform data under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Email od.jackiebot@gmail.com to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to processing, request human review of a ban, or report a problem. Include your Discord user ID and any case ID. This contact remains available if you are banned.
We may verify your identity and normally respond within one month. Deletion requests cover relevant recovery copies. You may complain to your data protection authority, including Datatilsynet.
